After a quick flight from Amsterdam we arrive in Prague. The city is absolutely beautiful full of history and an amazing mix of East meets West. There are still loads of signs of the old communist regime which adds to its character. We only have three days and already we know its not enough. The castle stands proudly above the river while any direction you walk you are confronted by beautiful buildings and interesting people.
We decide to try local beer - of course - its so cheap. However, if you head out of the main center to the locals bars then beer is even cheaper! Food is pretty reasonable as well although beware the tourist trap charges that can sting you.
A must visit is the communist museum in which you get to learn about the 'Velvet Revolution' and how the Czech Republic became a republic. A visit to the castle and a climb up the 400 odd steps gives you spectacular views of the city. Well our next entry will be from the other side of the world so see you soon. |
